On January 3, 2022 Chicago Police Department Detective Joseph Tripoli died from complications as a result of contracting COVID-19 in the line of duty. Detective Tripoli had served with the Chicago Police Department for 27 years and was assigned to Area 3.

He is survived by his daughter, two sons, his father, and three brothers.

Our hearts are with the Tripoli family and the Chicago Police Department.
