Supporting The Brave Men And Women Who Protect Us

Since its founding, the 100 Club of Illinois has been working hard to support the men and women who put their lives on the line for us every day.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does the 100 Club of Illinois do?

The 100 Club of Illinois provides resources, several forms of financial support, access to training, and moral support to both the families of first responders killed in the line of duty and active duty first responders throughout the state of Illinois. All sworn federal, state, county, and local first responders stationed in Illinois are included

Who receives benefits?

Our benefits go to surviving spouses, dependents, and surviving parents if they were dependent on the fallen hero for their support. Our educational assistance is available to surviving spouses and dependent children.

Do all deaths qualify for coverage by the 100 Club of Illinois?
We provide benefits when a public safety professional loses his/her life in the line of duty. We do not provide benefits when a professional dies of natural causes, either on or off duty. A line of duty death declaration needs to come from a department head (i.e. Chief, Commissioner, SAC)
What support does the 100 Club of Illinois provide?
A representative from the 100 Club of Illinois meets with surviving family members within 24 hours following the loss of life in the line of duty. The family is then presented with the immediate financial assistance of up to $50,000 and access to the support and resources of the Club. The 100 Club representative works with the family, department, and other statewide support services to ensure the family has access to every resource they need.
The Educational Assistance Program provides financial assistance for dependents for their undergraduate, vocational education, and graduate studies. Currently, there are 32 dependents receiving assistance from the program and there are an additional 84 children who will be eligible for assistance as they reach college age.
Beginning in March 2021, the First Responder Assistance Program focuses on providing resources, via training and funding, to active duty first responders and departments. This program aims to create a safety net around our first responders and provide them with the tools they need to be safe, healthy, and resilient.
What level of support has been provided in the past?
The 100 Club of Illinois has provided benefits to 302 families of fallen public safety professionals. Total benefits have exceeded $13 million.
How is money raised?
Funds are raised through individual and corporate memberships, donations, charitable and corporate grants, and special events.
Is my membership or contribution tax-deductible?
Yes, the 100 Club of Illinois is an Illinois nonprofit (501)(c)(3) charitable organization. All contributions are tax-deductible within the limits of the law. The E.I.N. for the 100 Club of Illinois is 36-6158087.
Why do we do it?
We do it to express, in our own way, our gratitude for the job that every law enforcement officer, firefighter, and paramedic does to make our lives safer. Should one of them die in the line of duty, our actions acknowledge our obligation to their families in the best way we know how.
