On Tuesday, February 13, 2018, Commander Paul Bauer was at the building in the 100 block of West Randolph Street in Chicago’s Loop when he saw a man who matched the description of an offender wanted by tactical officers in the area. A confrontation occurred, and Commander Bauer was shot multiple times. He passed away from his injuries. Commander Bauer is survived by his wife and daughter.

Commander Bauer was a dear friend of the 100 Club. He was a former commander of the mounted unit and assisted the Club with several outings.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Bauer Family and the Chicago Police Department.
