Beth Salmo earned a M.S. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Arkansas and has over a decade of experience. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) in Illinois and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Missouri. Ms. Salmo is also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and Emergency Responder & Public Safety Certified Clinician (ERPSCC). Beth owns Thin Line Counseling Services LLC, where she specializes in helping first responders, military-connected individuals, and veterans, as well as their loved ones. She is trained in and practices trauma-focused CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy); Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR); Prolonged Exposure therapy (for trauma); insomnia treatment (CBT-I); and works often with individuals presenting with anger, trauma, depression, anxiety/panic, grief, and moral injury. Ms. Salmo actively supports the military and veteran communities. She is a Star Behavioral Health Provider through the Uniformed Services University and Purdue. Utilizing cutting-edge skills gleaned from consistent participation in continuing education, Beth augments her skills so that she may help all warriors. She is married to a Marine (MSgt, retired). Beth sees people aged 18+. Beth started her dream practice in late 2021 following the death of a former partner, who worked for many years in law enforcement. Having several friends and loved ones in public service roles - including being a law enforcement significant other for many years - Beth personally understands the issues and dynamics that can present in these relationships. Beth sees first responder clients out of her home-based office, offers walk & talk sessions, and can see anyone anywhere virtually in IL and MO.
