The MABAS 43 Peer Support Team is a multi-agency peer support collaborative with 15 peer support members serving law enforcement officers, corrections, firefighters, paramedics, dispatchers, and retirees. Their Peer Support program originated in 2020. Members are trained through peer support curriculums, including CISM, ILFFPS and Critical Incident Management education, and peer support members are to complete quarterly continuing education through the team coordinator and physician.
Aside from peer support, other wellness programs offered by MABAS 43 include an in-house clinician, family programming or resources, and on-duty wellness programs.
The team’s peer support coordinators are available to coordinate assistance to outside agencies for general peer support requests, critical incident response, and program development or implementation collaboration.
