In partnership with the Illinois General Assembly, August 27th is officially designated as Hero Day in Illinois, a day dedicated to recognizing and honoring the bravery, dedication, and sacrifices of our first responders. Hero Day encourages public appreciation and community engagement to show gratitude for those who risk their lives to protect our safety.
Why August 27th?
The 100 Club of Illinois was founded on August 27, 1966. Since that day, the Club has stood by the families of fallen first responders, providing over $17 million in financial and emotional support. Hero Day not only honors those who serve, but also serves as a reminder to never forget the heroes we’ve lost and the families they leave behind.
The 100 Club of Illinois will celebrate Hero Month throughout August and we invite you to be part of the mission! Below are ways to support, honor, and recognize your local heroes.
